Day 1

This was my first full day on campus. I had dinner yesterday, but the offerings were... lacking, to say the least. Now they have a much more robust menu, with more than just two things. It was a bit much for me, but I think I'll grow to like it.

For breakfast, there were a few offerings, such as cereal, oats, waffles and sausage. I decided to get bacon, fresh fruit, hash browns, and something I'm not entirely sure about. Something to do with spinach. I also grabbed a carton of 2% milk.

The bacon, which I ate first, was good. It was flavorful, filling, and unlike some other places, actually felt like bacon. It left my fingers a bit greasy, but that's the price to pay for good bacon. The fruit wasn't bad either, though the other food left it uncomfortably warm. There was pinapple, grapes, cantelope and watermelon. I did enjoy it, but I had to put in the fridge for a bit. It was a promising start. The hash browns, however, did not live up. They were flavorless, pale, and clumpy. Worst of all, there were onions in it. I cannot stand onions, no matter the preperation. I nibbled at it for a while, but the flavor of the onions permeated far too deep. The spinach part wasn't bad, but I didn't enjoy it all too much, I had to eat some of it later. The milk was good though. You gotta love milk.

For lunch, they had three options of protien to put in a little bread shell. I don't recall the name, but it wasn't too bad. A bit dry, and something that took a while for me to eat rather than something I'd devour as soon as I got back, but oh well. Can't win them all.

Aside from that, there was also a side salad and a brownie. The salad was very basic, just an assortment of leafy greens, some peppers, cucumbers and carrots mixed together. The brownie was good though. Overall, it was just uninteresting.

For dinner, there was lasagna for the main course, and I choose broccoli and a breadstick for my sides. The broccoli wasn't too bad, though it was definitely a variety I wasn't familiar with, and it was generally pretty weird. The breadstick was standard, the same sort of thing I'd get at my high school, but the lasagna was a bit different. It wasn't bad, just not like the lasagna I'd get at home. But the kind I usually get contains a lot more stuff alongside the meat and cheese. I consumed most of it in one sitting. There was also a brownie, which was tasty.

Overall, today wasn't that bad. There was stuff I liked, stuff I didn't like, and I didn't have to dip into my snack supply to keep myself full. A decent start to a new year of food, assuming we don't get sent back.
